“Color is such a marvelous way of expressing emotion. We have so many problems in this world, color brings just a little bit of joy into our lives.” -Vera Neumann, American artist and designer
For about the past month, I have been shuffling around a little scrap of paper, torn from a magazine an American friend lent to me. The clipping has sat everywhere in my kitchen, on top of the piano, and even next to the sink. Because, while I was reading the magazine, I didn’t know exactly what I would do with the clipping, but I knew I had to keep it. I loved the quote, above. Finally, it gained its own place on the bulletin board and has worked its way into my journal, and now this blog. That torn magazine piece is of the above quote from artist, Vera Neumann.
To me, color is life. Because, while I love and deeply enjoy a misty monochrome grey landscape, there is something magical about a scene saturated with color and joy. Any of the people I see on a given day could verify that I now carry a vivid blue handbag, the color of the Swedish summer sky, and that the most frequent color I wear is orchid purple. Even my tennis racket is a blinding pink (which I’ve recently learned, the brighter the color does not equal the more quality racket), and our dishes have become a coordinated mismatch of the ever-beautiful Polish Pottery, from the Boleslawiec factories. So, in the same celebration of color as Kate Spade does so well, I’m posting some of my favorite shades of inspiration. I hope you enjoy them!

For you: What is your favorite color? What colors inspire you the most? Which color do you most frequently choose to wear?
