Who We Are
For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. . . . You are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. (Isaiah 43:3-4)
The middle school years are a hard part of growing up, for a young teenager’s self-worth is based on the opinions of others. I was extra tall and gangly, with a metal-mouthed smile. I tried to wear the right clothes and not be too smart, but I was never in the “in” crowd.
So much of what we do is based on what we imagine that others want from us. However, all that we strive to be and do in pleasing others is still rarely enough.
God takes us “as is,” and loves each of us for who we are. We can do nothing to make him love us either more or less. God knows that we are not perfect, but to him, we are precious, honored, and loved.
Feast on the richness of God’s love today. Allow this truth to saturate your life: God loves me for who I am. His perfect love will transform your days.God loves us for who we are.
